Kahlil Gibran
Then said Alitra,“Speak to of Love.”And he raised his head
and looked upon the people,
And there fell a stillness upon the.
And with a great voice he said:
When love bes to you follow hi,
Though his ways are hard and steep.
And when his gs enfold you yield to hi,
Though the sword hidden aong his pions ay wound you.
And when he speaks to you believe hi,
Though his voice ay shatter your dreas as
The north d ys waste the garden.
For even as love s you so shall he crucify you.
Even as he is for yrowth so is he for your prung.
Even as he asds to your height and caresses
Your te brahat quiver the sun,
So shall he desd to your roots and
Shake the their clgg to the earth.
Like sheaves of rhers you unto hiself.
He threshes you to ake you naked.
He sifts you to free you fro your hks.
He grds you to whiteness.
He kneads you until you are pliant;
And then he assigns you to his sacred fire,
That you ay bee sacred bread fods sacred feast.
All these thgs shall love do unto you
That you ay know the secrets of your heart,
And that knowledge bee a fragnt of Lifes heart.
